Hi, my name is Valerie and my husband Mark and I are proud to be the owners and managers of  The Rays of Hope.  My background is 20+ years in nursing and Mark's is with the military, for the USPS, and running his own bowling center for 12 years.

I never thought I would ever run a retail business, let alone a cold laser business.  Especially since up until 2 years ago - I hadn't even heard of Cold Laser Therapy!  Let me explain.....

As I mentioned, my background is 20+ years of nursing.  I had seen many wonderful things, as well as a few I wish I hadn't.  I felt the industry was moving away from patient care and towards pharmaceuticals at too rapid of a pace for my comfort level.  My back had suffered from the years of lifting (and a few horse and car accidents) and I had recently moved away from traditional nursing into alternative venues, primarily nutriton and weight management counseling.  (I also built a few websites to augment my income).

Then, if you believe in coincidence, which I personally do not :), Mark & I fatefully met Dr. Larry Lytle in an airport car rental line in Denver CO.  You see, we had all been snowed into the airport on a Sunday evening, and the next flight was not until Tuesday morning.  We all decided it was more prudent to drive home - and ended up "carpooling" 6 hours from Denver to Rapid City.  It was during that ride that I had my first exposure to the healing properties of Cold Laser Therapy.  I thoroughly enjoyed the conversation and the information, but as I had no immediate use for it just sort of tucked it away in my memory banks.

Until 8 months later - when I found myself in desperate need for something - anything - that would keep me from going under the knife for a neck surgery.  You see - I had 5 weeks earlier awakened with a "kink" in my neck that over the following 5 weeks resulted in the total loss of my right arm strength and extreme pain - I was actually nauseous if I was standing and forced to carry my right arm with my left.   I had tried everything - chiropractic, traction, ultrasound, electrostimulation, all to no avail.  I was recommended for surgery.

That is when, on a Sunday evening about 9:00pm,  I dug out the business card I had gotten on that fateful February drive, and called Doug - Dr. Lytle's laser consultant.   He assured me the laser would most likely help, but unfortunately they would be out of town for several days and referred me to a local practitioner who had one of Dr. Lytles laser units.  I went right away on Monday morning - and he used the laser.

And I felt no change.

I was disappointed, but Doug told me it would take a few treatments.  I returned to the practitioner's office on Wednesday - still with nauseating pain.  He again lasered the base of my neck and I immediately went from a pain of 9 on a scale of 10 to a 5!  I couldn't believe it - literally - I kept wiggling and moving - certain it was a fluke.  But I was proven wrong, as over the next 2 days the pain continued to decrease and when I returned for my 3rd and final treatment, the pain was a 2 when I entered and completely gone when I left.  I had the full strength back in my arm as well!  I was a believer!

I profusely thanked Doug and Dr Lytle - who were not at all surprised by the way - and went about my life.

Again - I don't believe in coincidence - but can be hard headed sometimes when God opens doors for me.  About 3 months later I was offered a position with Dr. Lytle's office.  I had a full time position and was really not looking - so I graciously refused.  After 2 more offers over the next six weeks, I agreed that if Dr. Lytle could "show me the science" I would consider it.  That did not take long as there is over 30 years of research on Low Level Laser Therapy.

I began part time and found myself absolutely in love with what I was doing, so very quickly was a full time staff member being mentored by the developer o the QLaser system. My background as a nurse helps tremendously as I understand why the laser works at the level of the cell, and can explain to folks the reasonable expectations they can have with Laser Therapy.  I also believe no one therapy is complete - we are a product of all of the influences on our bodies, and I continue to support nutrition as a foundation for good health.   Click HERE   for more information on our Isotonix™ line or our Anti-Aging line.

I was helping people get hope back!

After 9 months with Dr. Lytle, Mark & I began our own business and am pleased to say I have found my gift!  I believe God has been preparing me for this path for many years, and I am finally ready.  We are also blessed to have the flexibility to have our 5 year old daughter Ciarra with us daily.  We can raise her instead of a daycare provider.

The Rays of Hope  is based on the belief that he who has health has hope, and he who has hope has everything.

The Q1000 Low Level Laser system supports this philosophy by playing a vital role in supporting the health of our bodies without side effects or risk of injury associated with other healthcare practices.

Company Goals and Objectives:

Our primary goal is to exceed our customer’s expectations in quality, service, and education in the low level laser world.  Our company looks at each individual with unique needs and concerns.  We take the time to listen, and we work on addressing their specific needs.

In closing, I wanted to share a few pictures with you.   We are blessed to live in one of the most beautiful spots on earth in my opinion - even though it  can be brutally cold in the winter!
